I am racking my brain trying to remember the name of a song that my wife and I square danced to in Germany in 1974. The lyrics of the chorus went something like: "and we would dance, dance, dance to the steel guitar . . .". Can anyone help me with this? Thanx.

Dunno if it's either, but I found a couple that might be
it. Either way, I enjoyed finding and listening to them.

One is Dance by James Taylor. https://youtu.be/LNAAc-x_kGs about 0.50 "listen to the music of the steel guitar"...

The other by Danny O'Keefe. Remember him? It was called Steel Guitar with Lindley on steel. clickhereforlyrics

There is also a song by Paul Anka titled A Steel Guitar and A Glass of Wine.
Lyrics and youtube clips of all of these are online.

EDIT: Woopps, just noticed you said square dance. Sorry, gotta do a better job of reading posts. I don't think these fit the bill.

Thanx for the effort, Jerry. It was a regular song (not made specifically for square dancing) that the Caller would sing, while substituting dance instructions for some of the words of the song. I enjoyed listening to the songs you found, but neither is the one I'm searching for. Thanx again.
