I amended my previous post.
I was unaware of the SKH being available on an LL II as a special order.

Had a Pecan white one like it with 14 hole bell-cranks, Traded it to Terry Pliant, think he still has it, as I remember it was a 1984 model. It was/is a great steel had that P/P tone however it only said Le Grande on it not LL11 _________________ Mullen Discovery, GK mb200 with Eminence EPS-15C, Fender steel King with Eminence EPS-15C,Nashville 400 amp, with EPS-15C,Evans FET500 with Peavey 1501 BW Goodrich L10K V.P.(2),Goodrich L120, Bose L1 PA with ToneMatch 4 Mic control board |

yes, I had several Legrande models, some with 4 and some with 14 hole bell cranks ... I think Bobbe told me those were custom order guitars, but that was long time ago, I can't be 100% sure, it could have been someone else... and i think I remember seeing one or two for sale here on forum, but can't remember if it was white or black...I just don't remember things as good as i used to...anyhow, it is a great guitar, and there is not many of those out there... serial number of this beauty is 1047L ...maybe that would clarify some things ... _________________ https://steelguitarsonline.com/ |

A unique Shorty here: Note the Lashley changer, the Schaller keys and the 14 holers. If I recall, Jack Strayhorn once commented on some special order LeGrandes between '89 and '92 where the buyer(s) requested the SKH. I have one that has all of the above with the exception of mine has 4 holers. Personally and from personal experience, I think the original Shorties (early 80's) with the webbed changer had the best tone. |

Erv, As many things that you put on the forum to sell, you would be teed off if someone commented negatively on your post as you do on many others I see. |

Paul,
I am not being negative. I was just unaware of the existence of LL IIs with a short key head. If this happens to be the case, then I've learned something.
From some of the previous postings, it appears that they could be custom ordered that way. Who knew!
It is a beautiful guitar and I wish Damir my best. |

Fooled me too Erv, I knew SKH's were made with a regular cuttail changer but not with the 14 hole bell cranks and LL II. That is a beautiful guitar and I can vouch for SKH tone because they all sound good I really don't think the changer, whether the combed or regular cuttail, would make much difference in tone but I do think total body length would. Someone is going to get a rare and indeed a wonderful guitar. That thing looks brand new. _________________ Henry Matthews

That looks more like 108N humbucker pickups than Pentads. The Pentad had a rotary selector switch. The control panel underside looks to have a pot (for the tone roll-off) with the bypass switch and the 3 position tele switch for front-both-back pickup selection.
Damir please clarify for your potential buyer. |

108N pickups, no rotary switches on guitar... regardless of the pickups, this is a wonderful instrument... _________________ https://steelguitarsonline.com/ |
