This is absolutely great. From another era. Notice Lawrence Welk telling him at the beginning to stop looking at his hands and smile at the camera. Yeah... right. -L-

I always looked forward to the LW show back in the 60s with a chance to watch Buddy on steel or guitar and Neil Levang as well. That is great playing by Buddy, as always! Doug, maybe it has to do with weight of the steel Seriously tho, I have read some posts on here where they were talking about the old MSAs and others and that the bulk of the instrument contributed to the sound thru shear wood mass. Other factors involved too of course, pickups,...talent ? _________________ Zum Encore, Remington D8 non pedal, Hallmark Mosrite clone, Gretsch 6120 DSW, Gretsch G5210T-P90 Electromatic Jet Two 90,1976 Ibanez L5, Eastman archtop, Taylor Dreadnaught, Telonics pedal, Squire Tele, Squire Strat, Fender Tonemaster, Gold Tone 5 string banjo, Little Wonder tenor banjo, 3 Roland cubes 30s and 80, Carvin combo bass amp |
