Who uses a FLIP PHONE, still? It would be great if you could provide some commentary but, not necessary.

It is a statistical study of people who utilize the forum of which kind of mobile phone they use.

I used a flip phone until a few months ago when it went through the washer,I finally got the phone dried out, brought it to AT&T but the gal behind the counter wasn't much help, she didn't have a new chip?I bitched, and moaned,Somehow she signed me up for a Samsung Galaxy S7.I gave my flip phone to the cat...I really miss my flip!! Winking

Stu

That's the second time I spit my coffee out this morning. Great story. Yours and another Un-named player that voted in absentia, but instead, emailed me with a brief but funny story.

Being a retired computer techie I have an IPhone (although I'm not an Apple PC fan, I have a Windows PC).

I don't know what this has to do with Steel Players, though.

Before Greg's list was posted, I was thinking that the telephone feature is possibly the lowest tech feature on most smart phones. They are in fact a compact computer work station in your pocket. iPhone 6 for me, and already way behind in ever changing technology.

No, I still use a flip phone. I waste enough time just being on my computer. And if I had a smartphone, I'd probably be like most others and become an absolute slave to it. I look around and see people all the time...walking, running, driving, eating, and even watching movies at the cinema - all the while poking, jabbing, and staring at that little flat "time and attention thief". Muttering

Flip-phones for my wife and me.

Total is just over $50 per month including taxes. There's no email that's so urgent that it can't wait until I'm at home on my PC (or, if I'm working away from home, on my tablet where there's free wifi).

If we had smart phones our monthly tab would be at least twice what we pay now. The only time you'll catch me staring into my 'phone is when someone actually calls me!

AND - my flip-phone is an alarm clock, a camera, a calculator, calender and much more besides.

They won't get smart-phone rental out of us until we're forced into it by them dropping flip-top phones from the range.

I will admit to being slightly envious of the GPS feature in smart phones but, for the few times I need one, it's not worth the $50-$60 per month extra it would cost me.

I kept misplacing my cell phone.
So I started looking around and found a phone with a cord on it that fastened to the wall. Whoa! Rolling Eyes

Flip phone Trac phone. $20 every three months buys 120

Same as Larry. It doesn't butt-dial. I don't even care that I don't know how to use the camera. I just want a phone.

Greg's is the real deal, hope it makes the cool sound when you flip it open. 'Kirk here.' I'm sure that's been done.

I used to get a call from a guy at Cains Ballroom on my pager, 'Beam me up, Scotty.'
Butt seriously, did you ever see in advance the ubiquitous proliferation of global communication wirelessly by this time?
I would have bet on flying cars before anything like this happened.

I have a flip phone for mainly two reasons:to make calls and to receive calls.I occasionally use the calculator.I charge the battery once a week whether it needs it or not.

Unlike my wife and daughters,I will not allow my life to be controlled by a smart phone,or as I call them,"life thieves." They have turned my family into zombies.I Have to work for a living. My hands hold tools all day.I don't have time for such nonsense.

The smart phone is a wonderful invention.Just don't let it take your life from you.
