I have 2 empty Mesa Boogie head cabinets for sale, both are in excellent condition. One is covered with the plain old style tolex and has a few places where the tolex was not glued well as shown in the photos. The other one is covered with an alligator skin tolex and has no glue issues at all. Both will fit any of the Mark style chassis; Mark2,Mark3,Son of Boogie etc. They are made in USA from plywood and only weigh 7 1/2 pounds. Front opening dimensions are: 2 1/2" H, 17" W, 9" D (front to back). I'm asking $100 plus shipping for the plain tolex cab and $130 plus shipping for the Gator tolex. I also have a cover that will fit either one for $25 and I will ship it with cab. purchase. These cost $200 each new. This is a great way to lighten your load if you are using a Mark combo amp!

Will the plain black Tolex head cab be a match for a Mark II B wit the 5 band EQ? I believe they call this head the long version as it has the EQ.

Thanks,

Lenny

The Mark 2B chassis with the EQ is actually the same as without EQ. The difference was in the faceplate. The long chassis was used for amps that had six 6L6 output tubes. Whoa! It was a real monster. Few were made.

Len, measure your chassis and compare those dimensions with the ones I posted Smile

The long chassis was also used for 100 watt amps (four 6L6 tubes) in cabs that had a 15" speaker. Other than that, all Mark II B amps used the standard size chassis. I bought a newer model in '95 and it fit perfectly in into my old Mark II B cabinet.
