I made a wasted trip to Guitar Center yesterday in a vain search for a good quality gig bag (for a Telecaster).

Quite apart from the sheer unpleasantness of hearing spotty youths shredding to their hearts' content GC had nothing but their own brand - these weren't what I was looking for.

Has anyone any recommendations? I'd like something well made and, while I won't say that expense isn't a factor, I'm happy to pay for something worthwhile.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks, Butch, but I have a hard case. These Custom Shop Fenders come with a repro tweed case already. I want a high-quality bag for when I load my car with gear. Hard cases take up too much room.

If you'd asked the shredding spotty youths for advice, they'd probably think a "gig bag" was something you put your weed in to get thru the nite Smile

A lot of people whose opinions I value seem to really like the Mono bags.

My Telecasters ride to gigs in a Levy's EM7S. Note that this is very different (and much better) than the EM7. Best price I see for these right at the moment is here, if the shipping isn't high - Click here. Usual going rate is about 50.

I also get these when they go on sale at AMS for 25 or less - Click here. Actually pretty tough for a cheap bag.

But I really like those Levy's EM7S bags. In fact, if Cream City ships those for free, I may grab a couple extras for myself. Has their embroidered logo, but it looks well-done to me.

Those Henry Hellers look good, but I've never seen one in-person.

I've gotten some Fender-branded gig bags from MF that I like.Been a long time since I brought any of my Fender six-strings to work in the case.

Upscale, I prefer the Mono M80 cases. Honestly, though, they're almost too much for a Fender, so I save them for my Gibsons and their delicate headstocks.

Just below that, in cost....I like the Reunion Blues RBXE1. I probably won't buy another Mono, after finding these.

Below that, they're all much the same......best deal I've found on a super solid, tough bag is the Phitz. I'm not sure they're really any lower quality than the real expensive bags. I've bought two electric bags, a bass bag and a mando bag. eBay sometimes runs deals.

Roger, I, too, like the World Tour bags from AMS. In my limited experience, the Deluxe Line are great and the Regulars are good bags for the price.

Enjoy your Shopping Spree! Cool
