I acquired this sweet little in line recorder a few months ago and have found it a helpful tool.
The concept is simple. It is essentially a cable with a built in recording device and captures whatever signal you are pumping through it. Comes with a 4GB micro SD card and captures the audio as .wav files.
I have used it as a speaker cable when jamming with friends, and captured our entire session. Or you can use it as your own instrument cable and record your own playing (so you can relive your mistakes over and over again!)
Very simple to use. If you are at all tech savvy, no doubt you will find all kinds of uses for this nifty little gadget. Nothing like listening to your own playing and using that feedback to improve.

If the cable portion is a standard audio cable (center conductor, jacket) I sure wouldn't use it as a speaker cable… take care.

Yes, $100.

And....good point Mark about using it as a speaker cable. In my case I was using it in that fashion with just a couple of us jamming in my rec room - very low volume. But yes, all kinds of problems can result if you use an instrument cable as a speaker cable at anything beyond a low signal level. I should have been more clear about that in my initial posting.

Here is a good article from Fender on that topic:
