Hey yall,
Some of you may have seen me post on the steels with out pedals. I just finished building this lap, I built it to practice on until I could afford a pedal steel. Well I had some things come up and moved some funds around and I will be able to pick up a Stage One. So I figured I would sell this lap I built to help fund that purchase. This is a 10 string tuned for e9th I used poplar for the body and aluminum for all the metal parts. Everything on this guitar is hand made by me except for the telecaster ferrules I used on the back side for the strings..and of course the tuners, pickup and gliders on the bottom. It holds tune well and the pick up is directly wired to the jack. You will notice gavitt wire from the jack plate to bridge this was the best way to wire it to cancel out the hum. I hand polished the aluminum to a mirror finish however there are some spots that still have light scratches. I don't have a power buffer and my hands could only take so much. I'm not even sure someone would be interested in buying this but I figured it would be worth a shot. I'd like to get $300 + shipping for it I prefer to meet face to face though.

That's a great job you did. Quick question: Have you had any issues with the strings, as they're coming off the tuners on an angle? I like what you did with this lap, or console, or whatever it is!
Sorry, forgot a few other questions:
Scale length?
String gauge?
Total weight?
Any way you could add legs? Is that body thick enough to mount some leg flanges?

No The strings stay secure. I was actually worried about that but I have yet to have and issue. There was a burr on the G# tuner and it broke the string during the initial install. I went back with a file and smoothed of every edge on the tuner holes. Also when I made the nut and bridge, after I filed the slots I went back through and polished and rounded all the edges. It has GHS Super Steels strings on it right now gauge 13-36. The scale length is 24" and total weight is between 8 and 10 lbs. The board thickness on the bottom is 3/4 so I am not sure you could mount a flange on it. I will take a picture of the bottom tonight and post it. I put the Fender sphinx amp gliders on the bottom so it can rest on a table without damaging the finish on the bottom.
