Rob Ickes has several CD's out, he's about the best I've ever heard and plays everything from Jazz to Bluegrass.

Gary, this was released in the 1990's and features some really great Dobro players. Its a must have for anybody interested in square neck Dobro.

I think most of Rob's CDs are instrumental only, there may be a vocal or two on them, I haven't listened to them in a while. Here is a sample of his playing.

Gary, I looked at Rob Ickes albums I have in my Itunes library this morning, and it looks like his "What Is IT" CD is all instrumental, his "Slide City" CD has two songs with vocals, and his "Hard Times" CD has three songs with vocals. I hadn't listened to these in a while and I had forgotten how good this guy really is. I think he toured with Dolly Parton a few years ago when she was doing acoustic/bluegrass music.

Hard to beat this one, although you sure wouldn't consider it "bluegrass."

I thought I was losing my mind because I know that I posted a suggestion yesterday and it's not here - and in scrolling through this thread I realized Gary posted this topic in two different sections - here in Wanted to Buy, and also in Music.

I'm happy to be of help and it's a great topic, but I really wish people wouldn't do this.

Moderators, is it possible to combine both threads into one?

"The Resocasters" is pretty good, Jimmy Heffernan, Mike Auldridge and Hal Rugg on Pedabro !

Also Jeff Newman and Mike Auldridge did a nice CD too - which name escapes me at the moment.
