From the info listed on the Don Blood website, looks like early September 1974. I have a 1973 6139 3x1 rack and barrel that I added two knees to, and converted to 2-hole pulls (thanks to parts from Michael Yahl). For me, once I touched that guitar, that was it.
This is a gem. Whom ever gets it will have a guitar for the ages.
Good luck with the sale, Bryan |

Damir.. Couple questions.. Do I see a coil tap switch in the endplate?.. Is it functional?
Is the changer 1 raise and lower, or is it double raise single lower?.. I see a few nylons there.. Please let me know ASAP... also, check your PM/// bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

Yes right after '73; they started welding a extra "raise hole" on the fingers that will raise a string twice; to get rid of the barrels and start fixing the rods at pullers; to use nylon tuners...> this is that.. Way cool.
And looks like it is a coil tap switch...and so the pickup does look original too...but can't see if there is a red and white wires running to coil tap switch..if so; then is functional.
This steel is a monster sound for anyone willing to have the best sounding steel made...so if ya feel froggy; ya better jump..ha.

Brother Ricky might confirm this - Based on the date, it looks like a "transition" job like Duane Marrs did on my ProII. It was built on November 13, 1973 and had single raise & single lower with barrels, tuned with hex head. I sent it back to Music City Manufacturing to add the vertical lever, and he talked me into changing to the "new tuning system" he said they had developed. It came back with no barrels and nylon tuners. You can see where they removed part of the finger to slide another rod in. I can't recall what year that was, but it must have been around the same time this one was built.
Ricky says that Duane committed Sho~Bud blasphemy on my guitar...
You can't go wrong dealing with Damir - I got this guitar's younger twin (probably 1983) a couple of years ago from him, and it was a gem also! |

I had a D-10 of this era when I was younger and dumber... and I sold it. That was one of the ones that I should have kept. Nice one! |
