Planning a 5 trip to Nashville, my first, early February but unsure as to what the best days would be. I originally was considering Tuesday - Sunday but am flexible with days Thursday - Tuesday. My question is, are some days better than others and/or are the clubs 24/7? Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated with PSG in mind of course? _________________ Justice " The Judge"

You'll definitely want to check the calendars for 3rd and Lindsley (www.3rdandlindsley.com/) and the Station Inn (www.stationinn.com). On Monday nights you can often catch Paul Franklin with the Time Jumpers and/or Doug Jernigan with Val Storey and Friends. Monday is a good night for a steel player to be in Nashville... _________________ www.JimCohen.com

agree, move up one day , start on a Monday , Station Inn or 3rd and Lindsley, Also check out the Music City Bar and Grill by the Opry, Rusty Danmyer plays there often with the Music City Playboys with another great Steel player, Eddie Lange , on Bass ! Great band !
Check the schedules for Mon nights, you can catch Paul, Doug J or even Mike J.
Also check the club schedules of Legends and the Stage to see when Vince Marino is playing , you may see Tom Killen, Tommy White, Mike "Cookie" Jones etc, with Vince.
Have a good time ! Don't forget to bring a ton of dollar bills for the tip bucket. _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders

Chris Scruggs and his Stone Fox Five are not to be missed if you are there on a Sunday night and they are playing. http://www.chrisscruggs.com |

if you happen to like bluegrass music! the Sheraton music city is the place to be the 1st weekend in February. a full festival under glass the whole weekend. that will last a longtime, you'll have your bait of it for awhile.
then Monday nite at the station inn and 3rd & lindsley. Tuesday nite on lower broadway. only in the mentioned venues. sleep Wednesday nite so you can make a few places on Thursday and go to goodlettsville Friday nite or even better on Saturday nite.

I've been to Nashville a lot. Here are the remaining remnants of traditional country.
Gary Gibson--Saturday night at AJ's on Broadway and Tuesday night at Nashville Palace
Ike Jonson Monday night at Nashville Palace
Scott Icenogle every other Tuesday at Robert's Western World
Although not all traditional country Monday nights (songwriters) at the Station Inn are quite good with Doug Jernigan |
