Yes, it looks well worth buying. Depending on mechanical conditions, the market-value can be anything from $1600 to $2800 for an S12. Looks good on those pictures, but an instrument that old should always be looked over and test-played.
Note: Dekleys are a little on the heavy side compared to modern PSGs, and tend to sound slightly warmer and sustain better than most. They are as steady a platform to play on as one can get. |

What Georg said. Great guitar _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

I have one exactly like it except S10. Yes they are a little heavy and slightly longer. But are very easy to work on. They are one of my favorites. Their best feature is the necks made of pakawood which I have found resonate better than anything. Even aluminum neck. The only thing I don't like about them is that I can't get enough travel out of the changer for my setup. The throw is limited. However, I plan on modifying mine one day so it will accomadate more travel.

I'd kinda like an S-12 for grins, but I'm not a Dekley devotee. Rick Schmidt is the only one I know that plays that brand guitar (a D-12!!). I'd offer no more than $1200, but that's just me. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

Dekley was a good sounding guitar... I think you will enjoy it.
Dekley's idea of having the cross shafts keyed across the length insured no slip with the bell cranks _________________ Steel Guitar players are members of a Special Family |

That looks worth getting, (got it yet?)
It appears to be a triple raise and double lower.
Lots of pedals and levers can still be added if you so desire. I like the Dekley brand.....I'm jealous! |

Absolutely worth buying in my opinion. I worked with a D10 Dekley for about 2 years. Great sounding guitar. It is a heavy axe. Jim Smith is still toting his D12 around I bet. They are good guitars and never really got the recognition they deserved. |
