I'm not making conversation, just stating facts. I received two emails, neither including a price, just questioning my intentions and not reveling yours. Something does not jive. Jay

Why don't you just post the price? Most for sale boards dealing with musical instruments, that is the policy, you need to post an asking price. It's not too much to ask...

Dave,
b0b has a rule that you cannot post a price on a new guitar, amp, etc.
Are you interested? Rolling Eyes

Not at all. Just trying to see if posting the price would help sell it....The rule says this is a "like new" guitar not a new one, as you are not (I think) a store. It's a 15 year old guitar that was sold at retail in the past.

"Posting of discount retail prices for new merchandise in the Classified Ads section is prohibited. Readers can be directed to call or email for a discount price instead." This rule was created to discourage price wars among vendors. If you bought an item at retail and never used it, you can advertise it as "like new" and post any price you want. But if you say that it's "new", you aren't allowed to post a price lower than the manufacturer's suggested retail price unless you are the sole source of the item.
I don't think this applies in this instance as it appears to be directed at sellers who are a business.... In the end, you are a private seller with a like new 15 year old unused guitar. Posting a price would help you sell it.

You are so welcome...

(As you said) b0b has a rule that you cannot post a price on a new guitar, amp, etc. (which by his rules, this is not)

Erv, you've had this guitar listed here for about six weeks now.

You might get some action if you post it in Buy-and-Sell on the Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum. Doesn't cost anything to join, but many folks on that forum live, eat, and breathe Martin guitars and there just might be someone looking for a nice HD-28.

The UMGF requires an asking price which the seller does not want to do for some reason. Only dealers selling new merchandise can list without a price. He would not be allowed to post it on that forum, or most other guitar forums for that very reason. Can't be too serious about selling it....

Aren't offensive or abusive emails & private messages contrary to forum policy? How ironic.

Rick,
If they aren't, they should be.
I just answered two emails requesting the price on the HD-28, it's not like it's a big secret. Some folks just like to stir the pot, I guess. Very Happy

Dave,
YOU are a fiend.
One definition of a fiend: "Someone who obsesses over an activity or thing". (if the shoe fits, wear it). Whoa!
