Mikilani Fo, "Kamalani O Keaukaha". Music from one of my favorite Hawaiian artists, Mikilani Fo. A woman who's voice is very seldom heard. Why? Because she died on stage, in Reno, Nevada at the age of 35 in 1959. A candle that burned very brightly, but for all too brief a time. In addition to having a classic Hawaiian voice she could play many instruments, but was most famous for being one of the few woman steel guitar players of her era.

I have Rada LP316 with that track and two others by Mikilani. No information about the musicians. It is from that era when the LP Album was a new concept. The blurb on the back was delegated to someone at the office who wrote the same bland sales pitch for any genre. They probably didn't even listen to the record.

Roger, I can't remember who it was, 4 years ago that told me it was Joe Custino, but at the time I respected their input.
