Hi, Sam, you could go to the forum string sales page to look up gauges from several manufacturers or online suppliers like elderly, mandolin brothers, etc. but most acoustic reso strings will run in this ballpark. .016 .018p .028w .039 .049 .059 Beard sells "special 29s" with .029 strings to combat the issue many players have with the high G going back faster than others. _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com

Haven't changed strings in a year? When you do it is going to sound like a new guitar!
b0b has some strings for sale here, check out the link below:

A word of warning regarding the John Pearse strings - the 6th is an .059w whereas most resonator sets come with a .056w. I have found in the past in certain guitars that one cannot get the 59 through the hole on the tuner and you would have to use a tiny round file to ream it out. For that reason I avoid Pearse dobro strings, and .056w is plenty enough "beef" for a 6th string. Might not be an issue on the Johnson, maybe someone else will chime in that knows for sure.
I see b0b also offers GHS Cryogenic and Black Diamond, both good choices IMO. I have been through quite a few sets of both. _________________ Mark |

Thanks Guys I get My string from Ray Thomas and he is a Dealer for Sid Hudson's Live Steel Strings and I love these strings I have not broken any yet. The ones on The Dobro sound real good still. I also have them on My Dyna Lap Lap Steel and have not broken any on it either.
