Here's a way of archiving chord melody arrangements without the tedium of tabbing out every note..I call it "short tab"like shorthand! The first number is the fret,then pedals( 4-8 on C6, knee levers are named by note they give you on open strings..ie:10/56Bb..would be 10th fret 5+6 pedals + Bb knee lever .This is not "paint by numbers" tab, You have to know the melody in your head to use this! Often your melody and passing notes on KLs, and I try to show different positions the chords are available!..JS

Very elegant. Because I read notation, I like to write the melody with fret positions above the staff and pedals below. Take away the melody (store it in your head) and John's fractions are what is left. I shall definitely be using this method, and cursing that I didn't think of it

| Thanks Fobros, I've done about ten of these, if do a search! This just a basic recipe, feel free experimenting with KL and pedal motion to get the passing melody notes! JS |

For those who might just be beginning their C6th journey:
John's identification of what pedals and levers to use,
to provide the desired chord at the indicated fret, is an excellent mental exercise
- even without sitting behind your steel.

Ron is right this short tab will help the beginner on C6th.
I am beyond the beginning stage and still find it very useful also as it has provides an easy to remember chord locations foundation for the tunes.
