It is wonderful to see posts about this useful and important subject! By understanding these ideas, you increase your chord vocabulary exponentially using the chords you already know - excellent! _________________ Christopher Woitach

Greg,,,,good place to start on tritones,,,
Chris,,,I'm sure we could all use some of your musical knowledge on here,,,it's amazing how we all just grab bits and pieces here and there,,,and most of us wish we could have started at a "beginning" somewhere,,,, |

I have a question for Greg. Are the B pedal changes on string 8 in the "Major Chords - No Tri-tone Substitution" diagram a typo or copy/paste error? If not what is that change? I've never seen a B pedal change on the 8th(E) string before and I didn't see it in your copedent shown on your site either.
I love these discussions and must need a lot of woodshedding on substitutions because I always forget how to use them in the heat of the moment when they would be useful. |

Jamie, I'm sure they're typos - straight major chords with no change on string 8. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!
