Playing pedal steel has improved my trombone playing.

I have played trombone for 50 years, but I am semi-retired now and I mostly work on the steel. But I have a couple of 'bone gigs coming up so I got it out to start getting match-fit. For some reason I am finding it easier to play in tune! On the trombone you aim to hit the right spot on the slide at the first attempt - Plan B is to adjust in an instant before anyone notices.

I am well-trained in this, but the pedal steel has made me more alert when I thought I was pretty good already! Smile
