Are there any lyric and tab sites that don't have a bunch of side bar advertising and larger fonts so you don't need a magnifying glass to read the words?

I use chordie.com a lot. It's fairly clean. The chord names are highlighted above the lyrics usually. It's just a host site, so the quality of the work is the same. Just someones interpretation so you have to use caution.

Sometimes, if the text is too small, I use ctrl and + keys together to enlarge it.

Another thing I like about Chordie is that you can link to Jango radio to hear not all, but some of, the actual tunes sometimes which is handy.

I'll add that this is a free site, so there might be better sources one can access through subscriptions and premiums.
