Would consider Martin or Kustom as well as (or perhaps would even prefer them to) a Gretsch. Original Bigsby is a huge plus. Please let me know if you've got something sitting in the back of the closet. Cash or trades considered. |

Some Guild, Premier, and a few Harmony guitars also came with the DynaSonic DeArmonds. |
Yup, the sorta pre-Starfire Guild. Kinda got that styling that reminds me of Ramblers and Studebaker Larks for some reason. Sturdy and sensible looking. Premiers don't show up too much, and they might have been used on some German guitars as well. I do believe I first played them on a 3 pickup red Harmony Rocket, and couldn't believe how great a Harmony sounded at that time. |

Michael, I've missed your exhaustive knowledge here abouts. Hope you find some rewarding ensembles you can play with in Chicago land.
I'm aware of the DE Guilds, I would like to have a straight line in the thousands column if I buy something. I suspect this would not be the case with the DE models and most Gretsch models too.
One possibility that's interesting I didn't know about is the Elgers. I don't live far from Ardmore PA where they were headquartered. I see their brand around town once in a great while. Probably interested in anything that might pop up except the Harmony. And if someone makes me an offer I can't refuse on a Guild or a Gretsch, I can find the Franklins.

Cool stuff. I never realized that Elger had such a large line of US manufactured guitars before they became an importer. If the factory was really located at their retail location, then it really couldn't have employed more than a handful of luthiers. It was just 3 or 4 storefront buildings. |

Hmmm, now thinking a '63 Starfire or a Duane Eddy would be worth checking the sofa cushions to come up with the appropriate amount of change.
Any potential sellers out there? |
