I've never done a whole lot of work underneath the guitar.. Minor things...I'd like to change the RKL which now raises the 7th string to lower the 7th string. Is it a matter of just putting the rod in one of the top 3 holes and tuning accordingly?

Basically, yeah. Just unscrew the nylon tuning nut, pull the rod out of the raise finger and put it in the changer lower finger hole closest to the bottom of the guitar, and in the slot furthest away from the cross shaft in the bell crank.

Reinstall nut and tune. That should give you enough travel for most normal lower changes.

I dunno if Fessys have spacers behind the tuning nuts, so watch for that so you don't lose it when you pull out the rod. Some guitars use a different length spacer for the lowers and raises...can't say about Fessendens.

Thanks Jerry,
Nope, didn't see anything resembling a spacer. Nothing fell out and I made the change without any problem...Thanks a lot...

You welcome. Glad you got it done.Smile I hear Jerry's guitars are very easy to work on. Well designed bell cranks too.
