You dog! I was playing it the other day, and it's just awesome. Even with some very dead strings it sang out just like the p/p it is...plays really nice, too.
Plus it's got the awesome provenance.
Congrats, John...I'm so jell. Always kinda wanted a matte rosewood/black wood neck bolt on fatback...

Yep...I've wanted a wood neck mica guitar forever...and to have Sonny's makes it even better!

Wow, congrats on the new addition John! I recall you mentioning this guitar when we chatted at the Denver Steel Show - great to hear you went for it! Between becoming a granddad this week and this new family member, I'm willing to bet you're a happy man. Cheers!

This photo was taken at the Jimmie Crawford seminar you hosted in late 1979. It was held in the basement of a club you and your band played at in Denver, however I don't remember the name of it. I believe you took delivery of the guitar that day. Maybe Jerry Erickson would know for sure?

That's right! It was the basement of the Roaring Twenties club--must have been '79 or early '80...

Dat's da place! Congrat's on getting Sonny' old guitar, John! I'm almost drooling on my screen:). I would have been playing your D12 PP. I believe it's still living in Texas with Jim Smith.
