I just stumbled onto this. There is a GoFundMe effort that has been set up to assist with Chris's funeral costs. Proceeds from the Clarke and Cable album Round and Round will also be donated to assist the cause. Very sad..

In honor and memory of a great friends and steel guitar player - Chris Ivey. Chris had been battling leukemia and throat cancer for several years with successful results, only for it to resurface time after time. Chris played steel on the Clarke and Cable album Round and Round while going through treatment. At the time of the studio recording, Chris had lost most of his hearing because of the chemo, so they did what they could to accommodate the loss. California's music circuit lost one of it's greatest steel artists on 4 July 2016.
All sales proceeds of the Round and Round album went to help with his funeral costs. We wish we could have sold more. There is also a gofundme account in his name to help defray the costs. Please donate if you can. It's for Chris Ivey that this song is dedicated. _________________ John Brabant

Thanks Bill. Donation made. Chris's daughter needs to get to $1000 and is only a 1/4 of the way there. Please give to support our friend Chris. Very sad. The story of many talented musicians who literally gave their all for our enjoyment, leaving this earth in financial straits. Just not right. _________________ John Brabant

Steve. I do have a paypal acct. I don't know how to have someone pay me thru it, but if you do, let me know what I need to do for you on my end and I will do it. You can always call me at my cell and walk me thru the process on my end if that is easier. My cell is eight - zero -2- 498-five 661 _________________ John Brabant

Chris is less than halfway there on raising the $1000 for his cremation services. Only reached $480.00 at this point. Please do what you can folks. _________________ John Brabant

As Steve has suggested, if e can figure out how to credit my pay pal acct, I am OK with running it thru my credit card. I put my donation in by credit card without any issues. Let me know how I can help. _________________ John Brabant

John, et al...
I'm accustomed to funds going in and out of my Paypal so I can offer the same. My Paypal acct name is the same as my email: bills (at) linkelectric dot com
If the donation website doesn't allow me to put the donor's name at the top, I will put "On behalf of" and the donor's name or initials if you prefer, along with whatever message you might have. That way you know that your donation got where it belongs. Won't be able to transfer any funds until tomorrow (Monday) though, I'm out the door right now. |

Or, you can work it through Bill Sinclair. I can do it right off. Either way would be great. Just let me know if/when you send the money to my Paypal account so I can jump right on it. _________________ John Brabant

Hi, John,
II would send you, via my Paypal account, a "gift". That money you could use to make your credit card donation to Chris' family. All I need is your Paypal account email address (Please send it to me via a Forum PM rather than list it here).
As soon as I get your Paypal email address I will send you the funds. Thanks so much stevet |

The GoFundMe donation site for Chris Ivey will be closing in the not too distant future, so anyone wishing to donate to assist his daughter Katy with the costs of cremation, etc. may want to donate sooner rather than later. I will provide advance notice of the actual end date when it is arrived at. _________________ John Brabant

This received yesterday. I have asked that she not shut the site down until 5 pm west coast time. Waiting to hear back. Now's the time if you plan to donate:
Hello John,
I just wanted to let you know I will probably be ending the fund raiser tomorrow sometime. I will wait until later in the afternoon to do it. I again want to thank everyone for their support and generosity. You all are amazing people and Chris really enjoyed his time on your forum. Please take a moment and pat yourselves on the back because if he were here I know Chris would. I'd appreciate it very much if you could share this with everyone. Thank you
Best Regards,
