What is your opinion on the guitar?
How well do they play?
Sustain?
How are the mechanics in it?

I don't know...I'm at a loss on this thing. Looks like decent work on the body, but the mechanics just look sloppy. The holes in the changer fingers aren't centered, and they aren't in line. The same goes for the spring adjustment holes for the lever, and the cables seem to be pulling at all sorts of weird angles.
Am I the only one who notices these things? |

i build these guitars and yes that cable guitar you have seen was one of my first cable drive guitar. since then my medal man has cut the parts out on a laser machine, much better now. but even though that guitar was smooth as can be,if used how it was desinged for. the rod guitars i build have the old school method and i use ball bearings on all the shafts.i have sold about 60 guitars on ebay all with great feed back. they are what they are just great little guitars at low prices
great for the beginner great for the seasoned players the want a easy set up easy carry guitar. |

Bobby, I guess I can't really argue with something that works well, but a little tooling (drill fixtures or templates) and a tiny bit more time would go a long way to adding a more professional look to the pictured guitars. Don't feel that you must justify what you doing...I'm just sorta anal when it comes to mechanics, so I see room for improvement in even the best guitars that others probably do not.

| no problem just wanted to explain that it was one of my first the swing arms that i used were made fron some metal i had on hand. all the parts i now use are laser cut from stainless steel. but your right always room for improvement. i plan on still building the cable pull but will also build the old school with rods and ball bearings on all shafts. i will always look to build a quality steel guitar. because theres nothing like a steel guitar. thanks for your input bob |

Hey Bob...this is Rick in Newark, Ohio...we have had some conversations on me sending your Overfelt back to you to change the E9th to open E tuning...I haven't changed my mind but have had a rash of family medical issues to deal with...will be contacting you again soon..do have 1 question though...If I go to open E what will the 2 knees change???? Since I would then have 3 E strings in that tuning.

| well thats ok i love the old gospel songs, and building guitars is just my hobby. that cable guitar is a bit different. but cables can do the same job as rods.thanks again for the songs |
