Just saw Sturgill last night in Brooklyn, NY at the fairly resently refurbished Kings Theatre (totally gorgeous).

Boy, was I blown away along the the near sellout crowd(I think there are 3000 seats), a lot of them singing along with every word. I have the first two of Simpson's cos but hadn't gotten the newest one yet, but that will change today.

Laur Joamets was brilliant on guitar and also his steel, assuming it's the one (Zum)that Sturgis bought him 3 months before the tour and told him to learn how to play it, Wow did he learn. From my vantage point it was behind the Hammond B3 and was out of view.

Also dug the horn section, I like their addition on his older music that wasn't on the albums, and also great to hear that the Dap Kings from Brooklyn were on the recording of the new outing.

If you see them coming near on this tour, do you self a favor and check it out, one of the best live shows I've seen and my wife loved it too, so that's also Smile
