Since i read the sad news that Gib Guilbeau passed away i decided to put some of his records on the turntable.
I knew Pete Drake played steel on his albums and he later teamed up with Sneaky Pete Kleinow, during is Burrito Bros period.
On his early record " Cajun Country" he had a great line up with, Clarence White, Gene Parsons, Jerry Scheff, the Gosdin Bros and a steel player Carl Waldow.
In the many many years i got into steel guitar and steel players, starting with the Country Rock scene, i never heard his name besides this recording.
I start to wonder about Carl, any information is welcome! thanks. |

Olaf, I think his name is Carl Walden. He was associated with Gary Paxton's Bakersfield International label as was Gib, Clarence White and many others.
That's him playing here:

He probably also played on a single called "I'm tied down to you" by Richard Arlen. (I know this because it's in the booklet for "Tough & Stringy" by Clarence White). _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |
