This is the hardest thing I have had to do in a long time. My Mom in AL, who is 85, went to the doctor today and it looks like she may have to have a medical procedure done Friday. We are going to have to go be with her.

It breaks our hearts to have to miss the show. Joanie and I wanted so badly to be there this year. We've both been excited about coming to play and getting to visit with everyone. We have been busy getting everything in order to come, replenishing our CD stock and working hard on the songs for our sets. We even had Jim Hartley lined up to come play drums. We are so bummed.

Albert could not have been any nicer to us. He has been so gracious and so accommodating, doing anything he can to make coming to the Dallas show a great experience for us. I am so honored to be asked to play. It's the biggest Steel Guitar Show in the world. Joanie and I love all the folks that work the show and the folks that attend it. It's so cool that everyone in the place loves STEEL GUITAR and COUNTRY MUSIC as much as we do! You guys make us feel like family. Albert is disappointed, like we are, that we can't come but he agrees that family always has to come first.

Thank you all for understanding. I know it will be a great show.
Sincerely, MIKE & JOANIE

Mike,

Family comes first. I understand because I'm dealing with mother issues now too. I'm sure everyone supports you and will look forward to seeing you on down the road. I wasn't going to Dallas anyway, but please know that I'm thinking of you and wishing you and your family the best.

Mike,

Sorry to hear you won't be in Dallas this year, but there will be other shows...and you only have one Mother. We'll be remembering her in our prayers and trust everything will work out OK.

Hi to Joanie!

Don

P.S. Thanks again for the photo playing my airbrushed Emmons PP a few years back! I display the photo proudly here at home!

Thanks to everyone for your prayers for my Mom. She is doing much better. They still want to run a few more tests. She has a great Church, and with us 300 miles away, it's comforting to know they really watch after her. She was so glad that my brother and I came to be with her, even though she hated for us to miss the show.

We know that coming to be with her was definitely the right thing to do but you guys have no idea how disappointed Joanie and I were that we couldn't be there for the Dallas Show. I know it was a fantastic show. God Bless everyone who attended the show and hope you all have safe travels home.

We are about to head back to Nashville. Just in case anyone is going back to their home by way of NASHVILLE, our band 45RPM will be at THE STATION INN Tuesday night at 8:00. We would sure love to see any of you guys coming through. Daryle Singletary is our guest so it should be a fun night.

Thanks again to all of you, for being so nice to me over the years.
MIKE
