I spent a bunch of time trying to find one. There are some free utilities but they won't handle copy-protected DVDs.
The one not-free utility that I was tempted to go ahead and buy doesn't seem to be 100% certain to be able to handle state of the art copy protection either, making it potentially an expensive ($40-50) dud. So if anyone's got an answer, I'm interested too. |

Sounds like DRM is working. If movie makers thought their expensive movies would end up propagating everywhere at no cost, they'd probably find some other way to earn a living. |

Believe me, I am not anti-protection.
But until this January I was taking 6 hour round trip train treks to visit my dad and I really wanted to be able to rip some DVDs I've bought so that I could carry them in a flash drive for laptop viewing. I defer to the protection of the artist's rights and I've lived with this situation and will continue to...unless I can find an end-around. |
