Well the group that I play with,, the Gene King band,,is playing the Louisiana's Governer's Inaugural Ball in Baton Rouge on Jan 11th. We are excited to be a part of such an important event. It is a black tie event with about 10,000 people invited. We are glad they want to hear traditional classic country and the Governor himself may sing with us!

Charlie, there was a girl I know, from the Louisiana Songwriters Association. She is CRAZY about Jimmy Davis. EVERY song she had ever written was about Jimmie Davis. I did several show cases with her. Just thought I would let you know. Just incase she shows up.

Jimmy Davis wrote a lot of songs, including some gospel songs with Dottie Rambo.

Nobody can do it any better than my friend Charlie Moore. I will be watching to see if there are any videos of the Governor's Ball. I'll also be looking for some close ups and see if I can steal a few licks that my ole buddy has. Keep it up Charlie, you are still one of the best my friend.

Charlie, her name is Susie Labry. And I was watching the late news Monday night at 10. They had a reporter they were filming and in the back ground was a country band playing a Merle Haggard song. I could not see clear because they had the band blurred and a tight close up on the reporter. Was that, y'all?

Question...Jimmie Davis wrote You are my Sunshine that was a big hit. He wrote one more song that was also a big a hit. What was the second song? Jimmy Davis made a movie about his life growing up as a sharecroppers son and growing up to be the governor of Lousiana. I was told that governor had a band that loafed around the Mansion and played music when the governor had time. Also he was married to one of my wifes kin folks.

Billy,
That could have been "There's A New Moon Over My Shoulder". That went no.1 in 1945.
