Nice little Jam but I don't like the articulation.
He never hits the notes cleanly especially obvious in the Pt 2 of the performance. I feel especially in Pt 2 it feels like a Dobro player doing excessive vibrato.
His groove and feel is great but that's where it stops for me sadly. But others may love that sound. Completely subjective.

No need to be defensive. It's merely an observation that his constant vibrato is used. It's a slow vibrato and glissando into nearly every note he plays.
Sol hoopi and Bob Brozman both did a really fast vibrato. Not saying it isn't good just not to my liking on every note. It reminds me of old classic turner movies where all vocalists had this excessive vibrato.
Oh by the way. I wouldn't mind a jam I would welcome it. Pentatonic scales over and over isn't as hard as you think.

Well, whatever one thinks of it - Mason and Kohrs stopped by the Cole Clark booth, grabbed a couple of guitars and did what appears to be some impromptu jamming at a Summer NAMM show in Nashville. Pretty informal stuff.
Speaking of both these guys, at the conclusion of a class I took from Randy Kohrs at ResoSummit 2010 in Nashville, he was showing me how he plays some classic Brent Mason chord based electric guitar licks on the dobro. I wish I had a YouTube video of that one. it was uncanny.

Randy Kohrs has also toured with the likes of Dolly Parton, John Fogerty, and Jim Lauderdale as well as fronting his own band.
He has also played on plenty of sessions.
But over the past several years he has concentrated mainly on his studio in Nashville called Slack Key, this has been his primary emphasis so we don't see him in the spotlight very often.
For that matter if one were to conduct a "man on the street" poll, how many people - even if they were fans of "contemporary country" - could tell you who Brent Mason is if you showed them a photo. As far as good guitar pickers, they could easily name Brad Paisley and Keith Urban since they are popular frontmen, but few could come up with Mason, even though they might have heard him playing on hundreds of songs.

Here is another take, quite different than Randy Kohrs, of Jerry Douglas playing a Cole Clark Violap. He has owned one for several years and mentioned in the video at about the halfway point that he was using it when he was touring with Elvis Costello (as part of the Sugarcanes).
Jerry is exploring more of the amplified acoustic side, which is a lot like a Weissenborn, he has it tuned to Open D:
