I put on 2 more "Blues In The Schools" programs today in NC, introducing the lap steel to our 4200th kid in these series. During the Q&A session afterwards, many of the children asked about & commented on the lap steel. It is a big hit. Their ages have been between 5 to 15. A new generation digging the lap steel & blues music.

Kudos to you for spreading the word.
I bet the Harmos was a big hit if for nothing else than it's design and look. |

I wonder if Bobby Lee's fingerprints are inside that Mesa-Boogie? |

Terry , it is wonderful what you are doing to help bring our beloved instrument to the youth.
With a band name called Lawyers - Money etc. Surely you and others can find financial support to get instruments into the hands of these youth.
Same with Educational Materials - so many forumites are bringing excellent visual offerings.
This is exactly how the steel guitar became so wide spread in the 40's - 50's, teachers nation wide holding classes and finding ways to provide affordable instruments.
All of the Greats, now passed, started out in these type classes.
Wouldn't it be great if this Golden Age of Steel Guitar Resurgence can expand into a full on educational phenomenon. _________________ GeorgeBoards S8 Non Pedal Steel Guitar Instruments

Stephen, the kids minds are wide open, not one comment or question about the look. All of the questions and comments were about the sound & how I played it.
These programs are a ton of fun.

Oh, that's right......that's just the adults whose mouths go agape when they see a lap steel or a reso other than a Dobro. |
