Got my first ZB Custom and need a little with setup and tuning. Quite different than my Emmons and Carter.

The most important thing is to balance the pulls, so that the changer-end screws hit the end plate at the same time. When they are adjusted right, the pedal/lever will feel nice & smooth.
You need to do this with it upside down. And with good visual of the end plate. (not in the case)
Start by tuning all the open strings.
Then tune all the raises/lowers with the end plate screws.
After all is in tune, look at the end plate screws and adjust the turnbuckles so that each pair hits at the same time.
It's a tedious process, but you only need to do it once (unless you change string gauges or something else)
Good luck!
