| According to the BMI Website, Eddie Long uses this raise on his P0 position and this what gives him some of his unique sounds. Do any of you have this change? Any audio or explanation of where it's used? |

When I got the guitar I have now, (See below) Mickey had the 6th going all the way to B... I couldn’t figure it out so did something else with it...

Justin, BMI is building me a guitar and it will have that change. It's mainly used when Eddie plays his B6th stuff. Sort of "adds" to the voicing of his chords. Listen to Jamey Johnsons "For the good times", Cowboy used that pedal for the first 3 chords of the song.

Thanks Austin. I found a video that has Cowboy judiciously using that pedal. I think I can hear the change in the voicing, especially the outro on the 2nd tune. It should not be too long before I'm playing around with it myself....

| I bought a Uni back in 1998 or so... only had the Newman seven pedal setup. .. wanted the change for the standard B6 P4 ... so I put it on a knee lever. .. only to find it has become an essential change for me for E9 playing. I am a big fan of it but wouldn't want it anywhere else than where I have it. ...LKR |

| BTW,I've read Gary Carter has that change on his LKL2 . It's great when minor chords with 4+8 lowered. If only I had another knee lever! |

| It can give you a nice 9th scale tone with both knees lowered. I used it for a diminshed chord with A,B pedals down, with or without string 7 raised 1/2 tone. |

While lowering the 'E's to play in a 'sixth tuning', combine it
with the 'A'-pedal raising the 5th string to C# and it is the
'relative equivalent' of what is usually Pedal 7 on the C6th
neck (raising the high Sixth and Root up to a Maj 7th and
9th, respectively).

Together with some other changes I raise string six all the way up to B, which gives you a unison note with string five. With splits and stuff, it gives me six tuneable notes on string six. Great change when it comes to pivoting and counter points. I have that change on my zero padal so I can work it together with the A-pedal

Pete,
I've done the same thing...raise my G# to B on my 0 pedal (with a couple other raises). Using my 0 pedal and A pedal I get a complete 11 tuning; great for Hawaiian and standard/jazz material.
I play a 12 string Sierra. |

So many possibilities! You can press the B pedal and half pedal the A to get a real nice 9th sound and some of the same sounds.

Yesterday from all this talk on the G# to Bb... I went ahead and put it back on my guitar, except that I went all the way to B... and since I rarely use the vertical to lower my 5th, (I’d rather 1/2 pedal) I put it there, but left the 10th lower alone... so I don’t know the name of the chord but with AB down and the LKV up raising the 6th to a B and lowering the 10th to a Bb on strings 10,8, and 6, coming off the vertical and 1/2 pedaling then 10th before coming off of everything, is real purdy!!!

I raise G# to A#(Bb) on P0, along with lowering 9th string D to C#. I use it largely with P1 and sometimes the E raises and lowers (for open F#7/9, F#maj7/9 and F#6/9, respectively). I can get a full range of F# major chords and a lot of great vertical harmonized and chromatic scales. Lowering 9 to C# enables strumming the entire neck if I want to.
