I bought a Carter Starter 2 years ago and took lessons for 6 months or so from Doug to get started on PSG. After about the 3rd or 4th month with Doug, I decided to buy a better guitar. I drove up to Billy Coopers and came back with an Emmons SD-12 push/pull. I could tell Doug was pleased when he first saw it, lol. Recently, I picked up a 12 string BMI that I'm having set up with Universal tuning. When I sent Doug pics of the BMI to show off my new purchase, his only word was "Yikes!" Haha!
I think Doug may be a little biased towards Emmons guitars, but he's absolutely right to be so. They are some of the most sought after in the world and push-pulls more so. They are special for sure. |

I have a early 80's D-10 PP that is my preference over a few others I have. It has a great "growl" and I like the feel of the Legrande style pedal rack. Early 80s PPs have got my vote. Congrats! |
