Thanks for the tip Andy - now that is a fine lap steel version of a Flatt & Scruggs classic.
I have to get some work done here first and I will listen to the podcast later, and I'm looking forward to the issue of Fretboard Journal containing your interview with Cindy.
I had a nice talk with Cindy after her tour stop here with Albert Lee on Father's Day regarding lap steels. And a great treat it was as my wife and two daughters took me to the show.
I took delivery yesterday on a new Asher Electro-Hawaiian Jr. with the upgrades package including a pair of Lollar Imperial Humbuckers and the belly bar attachment for standup playing with a strap. Only had a few minutes on it so far.
I had been leaning toward a Lap King Rodeo like Cindy is playing in the video, but I couldn't make it work in the budget. And Bill Asher thought for the purpose for which I will generally be using the guitar I might prefer the Imperials over what Cindy has in the Lap King, which are Lollar El Rayo humbuckers. _________________ Mark |

Mark,
Congratulations on the new Asher EH Jr. I guess the gas moratorium (sp?) is over for now. _________________ Steve |

So as not to distract from the thread, I'll send you a PM about it, I was able to work some angles... _________________ Mark |

Great podcast. A lot more informative than I was expecting, being not very familiar with Cindy Cashdollar this really spurred my interest in her music.
Checking out 'Slideshow' now(!).
Glad we have you on the 'Steel Beat' as it was put Andy.
Looking forward to reading your interview with Cindy. |
