I was wondering what the approximate value of a Rains SD10 Rains with a Birdseye Maple Mica cab, 3/5 and original hard shell case would be in NEW condition. Purchased at Scotty's show about 7 years ago brand new and never played.

Also, same guitar Near Mint?

Andy, Rains guitars are in the price range with all of the other modern guitars with the exception of Zum, Franklin and couple other.

Money is tight and therefore values have declined. Two years ago I paid around $2,500 for my 2010 and 2012 used.

Both of mine are Mica....the 2010 is a 3x5 and the 2012 is a 3x4.

I'd love to see pics if it goes up for sale.

Hope this helps.
Chuck

The D10 may have declined. To me it appears the SD 10s have increased.

The reason why S-10s are going up in value is because of the aging steel demographic, who don't wanna schlepp around a D-10. Very few young people are taking up steel, and when we croak, there will be virtually no players left.

That's hard to believe
for me Rich.

I saw quite a few younger players in Nashville a few weeks ago.

Andy,
Off topic, any kin to Linda Eder? Wonderfully talented vocalist.

Hi Craig,

I know who she is and it's not a common name but I'm not aware of any kinship. I don't think I'm related to anyone famous.

Regards,
Andy

Not every moderator reads every post. The best ways to get a post closed are:

1) edit the subject line in the original post with the words PLEASE CLOSE or SOLD.Use caps. Bold the words if you can.

2) email or PM the moderator.

If you want something closed asap, number 2 is the best option.
