Hi

I have been using Lessons by Troy and the Cindy Cashdollar DVD Set for learning Lap Steel.

I plan on using some of the Troy Lessons
for learning the Dobro.

Can anyone recommend a DVD or alternative
lessons avail for Dobro also?

Thanks

Once you get a bit of knowledge under your belt.....Tricks, Licks and Techniques for Dobro, Vols 1 & 2 by Orville Johnson are very good.

There are certainly a lot more to choose from than there were many years ago, and in addition to some of these other fine suggestions I recommend:

Rob is very much into teaching proper technique in the 2 DVD set, and that is really important.

And you should check out Mike Witcher's site. Along with being a brilliant player Mike is a gifted teacher:

I have quite a few items from Jimmy as well, outstanding.

It's difficult to post about this and not leave people out, and even when you know you are leaving good instructors out, it's impractical to list them every time this topic comes up.

If it doesn't already exist we should have one of those "sticky" threads on dobro instruction instead having to re-invent the wheel every time.

And there is also the Search function on the upper right hand corner of the screen.
