Hi George,

Just a little help here, if you don't mind, that's a Melobar Skreemr not a Powerslide Melobar. Powerslide Melobars were all 10 string not 6 and it probably has PING keys not Grovers. Pickup is not stock but the rest looks like it. You can I.D. Melobars at www.melobarted.blogspot.com under identify models on the right side of the page. Hope that helps and it looks in really good condition.
Shot of it being played for guys that don't know what a Melobar does.

Ted

I appreciate the help Ted. You know more about Melobars than anyone. I've corrected the ad and reduced the price.

I've played a lot of Melobar Rattlers and like them a lot. My main steelk is one of your SXL w double Lawrence p'ups. What a monster steel!!! Here's 2 examples of what I do w it as a solo instrument. Thanks again. Geo

Very nice George, not sure I would have dropped the price because it's a Skreemr. Because they are not built anymore the price has been stiffening on them on ebay and in stores I've noticed, not a lot of them out there.
I agree on the tone of the Rattler, if I had that guitar I'd drop the older M213 pickup the Rattlers had in it, for some reason that pickup was just a nice combination. The SXL Lawrence L-500 pickup is actually pretty similar to what Lindley used in the El Rayo X albums on his V Melobar and it would be easy to install on that guitar too. Duncans were usually really bright and distorted easily.

Thanks Ted! You make a good point about the price. I'll think on that. Need to find buyers first...

I hear what you mean about the brightness of the Duncan p'up. I tend to roll the tone knob just about off to get less treble on all my steels [I'm a 325lb bass and mid-range kinda guy LOL]. I'll pass your p'up suggestions along when I sell it.

The guitar came w a Powerslide 88 brochure in the case. That contributed to my confusion about the model.

I like the Lawrence blade p'ups in the SXL. Very heavy tone when I want it and lots of choices w the double p'ups. I have another steel w reissue P-90s that I use for less 'colored' tracks. Thanks again. Geo
