How about A B-11 8 or 10 string PSG setup.

Would this make the B-11 tuning more versatile?

B11 on a pedal steel would be interesting. The tuning is very close to A6. A 10-string tuning... like A6 add 2, with a pedal lowering middle E to D# for a B11 chord might be interesting. Or B11 tuning with a pedal raising D# to E for a A6 add 2 tuning.
