But if money were no object (see title), I'm sure one could be acquired. _________________ -πππ- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

I already have mine. Out of the nine guitars I've owned and played my Custom Show Pro, SD-10, is head and shoulders above them all in many ways. I can now enjoy surfing the forum without drooling over any other guitar......cd

Mike, I realize they're not being made. I should have said,"I'd buy a used MSA Millennium and send it back to the factory for a complete updating. |

I just wish I had back the two Zums I sold. ( I still have the best one of all!) _________________ Zumsteel U12 8-5, MSA M3 U12 9-7, MSA SS 10-string, 1930 National Resonophonic, Telonics Combo, Webb 614e, Fender Steel King, Mesa Boogie T-Verb. |

I'd upgrade my second Dekley with floating necks - same as on my first one, and maybe put pedal-servos on both Dekleys to compensate for my present left-leg problems. |

I can't say that money is no object, but I have every steel guitar and amp that I would ever want. They are all in mint condition, and all get used in my studio and on gigs. However, one gets used more than the others..............my Show Pro. Simply a huge tone machine.
Mechanically however, the Infinity is simply sensational. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. Telonics TCA-500, Webb 614-E, |

If money was truly no object I would insist on buying Gary Carter's Zum.
I'd love a new Infinity - they look just perfect.
(Ken: how's the pedal-action on yours?)
I'd have one of Tommy Cass' incredible Emmons p/p restorations (and never take it out of the house).
And I'd like a new D-10 Show-Pro in that maple-and-electric blue finish.
I'd also pay the Hard Rock Cafe whatever they wanted for my Gibson Super 400 - currently hanging in their Nashville location. That's not a steel but it would be a part of this imagined buying spree. _________________ Roger Rettig - Emmons D10s, Quilter TT-12, B-bender Teles and old Martins.

Roger
The pedal action on the Infinity is super smooth with absolutely no free play or slop. I would call it medium/firm - just the way I like it. Half pedaling the A pedal is a doddle. Lever travel is minimal but easy. Body flex and hysteresis has been all but eliminated. It leans towards the Emmons tone, but with the Telonics pickup that came with it it does have its own voice. Ted Nesbitt owned the guitar before me, and very kindly gave me first refusal on it. Here is Ted at the Dallas Show last March where he picked up his guitar from Frank Carter. On Ted's left is Dave Beaty's magnificent D10 Infinity.
Buck Reid took me to his hotel room in Dublin in October to have a look at his new Infinity. He reckons that it took him a while to get used to the guitar being really 'in-tune'. His tone at the Irish Steel Guitar Festival was better than I have ever heard it over the years. He is really chuffed with his new guitar. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. I can honestly say while I admire some of these extraordinary guitars, I would not trade my '68 Bolt Neck for any of them. We are a very comfortable old pair. |

If I ever come across a person for who money is no object, that person could never relieve me of the guitar below. For me it is priceless and I couldn't live without it. Any of my other guitars however - well it could be that a deal could be negotiated.

I'd opt for a complete restoration on my Bud. While it's out I'd enjoy a Rittenberry _________________ The only thing better than doing what you love is having someone that loves you enough to let you do it.
