My knowledge is pretty marginal on these old Ricks. Any information would be appreciated. The photo is courtesy of another SGF member and I hope this inquiry doesn't offend him. I just don't know much about them. It looks like its in excellent condition and is all original. Thanks

Unfortunately I'm of no help, but it sure does look to be in wonderful condition. What is the string spacing on those 8"s?

The O.D. nut width on my Rics is the same for both 6 & 8 string models. They just closed up the gaps a little between strings to fit them in.
That's one reason I enjoy 7 stringers, the best of both worlds.
I believe the clamshell head cover was used on the "Deluxe" model between about 1949 into the mid 50s.
Anyway you slice it, it's still a damn good guitar.
