Wow, Dawn...

What a fantastic new chapter for Jackson instruments.

Zane King's video of the soulful Slideking Pedal Sho-Bro--complete with quotes of Shot's playing--is beyond awesome.

I noticed a pedal set up option on the resonator with the standard GBDGBD tuning on the website. Is there a video or more information for this tuning? I think Zane is using open E in the listed example.

Also, are the resonator models adjustable for seated as well as standing players?

Could we please have a couple of under carriage photos of the mechanisms on the SlideKing Pedal Sho-Bro? Are these all-pull? Are the changers and pulls owner configurable? If not, will custom copedants be available?

Thank you.

Thanks for the replies and questions. I am attaching some photos of the end and base/undercarriage of the Pedal Sho-Bro. The pulling mechanism is one of our all new Steelhead mechanisms (patents applied for). This one is a dual action system, comprised of two pieces as opposed to the traditional three. It is our most precise and simple pulling system yet, a result of nearly 60 years of research and development. All of our mechanisms are All Pull. On the Pedal Sho-Bro, the Dual Action system is capable of two raises and one lower on any string. You can easily change the setup yourself. This system will be available in the steel guitar world soon, with triple raise/triple lower capabilities.

Dawn, I read that we could buy just the pulling system and use on our own dobro. If that's correct, what is the price for that ?

Hi Tony.
We anticipate offering that option sometime next year but at this time it is only offered as a package, resonator included.
Thanks,
Dawn

Hi Johnie.

Not too sure about the knee levers but we can build you a sit down version. Email me what you are wanting for a pedal setup and we'll take a look. dawn@jacksonsteelguitar.com

Thanks,
Dawn

Dawn, I am very interested in this instrument.

A few questions that might be helpful for me and other potential customers.

1. How is the issue of cabinet drop? I suspect that the changer is mounted to the sub frame, and therefore doesn't place any stress on the body.

2. Does the nut have a roller system or another system to prevent the strings sawing the nut?

3. I think I see facility for a couple of additional pedals. Is that an option?

4. Finally - is an 8-string version on the cards or feasible in the future?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Ken.
Thanks for posting your questions here on the forum.
1. On the Pedal Sho-Bro, yes the changer is mounted to the frame so no stress on the body. On the G6 and Bass, the changer is built into the body design, but there is still not an issue with cabinet drop due a)the body design and b)our new foot pedal design which incorporates floor stops. This transfers the torque to the floor rather than the bell cranks, eliminating stress on the instrument. This is one of the unique design components we have applied for patents on and will be incorporating into our pedal steel designs as well.
2. There are roller systems at both the nut and bridge of the SlideKing instruments.
3. A fourth pedal is an option. Email me for pricing.
4. Regarding an 8-string I'm assuming you mean on the G6? We can do a 7-string in the guitar shape (as shown in the red photos below), but if you want 8 strings we will swing you over to the console cabinet design (as shown in the champagne photo below). Again, shoot me an email with specifics and we can determine pricing.
