That's an interesting-looking pickup on the E9th neck, Mickey. Don't think I've seen one like that before.

I have to declare an interest here - I am a Mullen D10 owner so I know it's never a bad decision to buy a Mullen, and if it's one Mickey's worked on you know it'll be a good 'un!

Ned I bought this guitar from Mickey about four years ago and had to sell it back in order to get Jim Lindseys old Quad PU D10 that seemed to be Mickeys main girl the last few years...anyhow, we were never able to determine with certainty what PU was on the front neck, but OH BABY, she’s a sweet sounding one...I wish I could have afforded to keep both, because this truly is one awesome playing and sounding guitar...I’m happy for the lucky new owner...he’ll love her!!!

Unfortunately, the mono fretboards are destroyed when they are removed. In some cases there is a plastic sealant, which comes up first, and the rest of the fingerboard comes off in pieces...Unrecoverable..

hey mickey..i really like the concept of the integrated tuners. looks cool. i know some builders think certain tuners add a better tone than others. do you notice any nuance due to these type?

har har...
i guess i should have asked, since you have worked on several prps with these tuners, have you noticed any noticeable difference between these steels compared to the other prps with normal tuners?

All I can say Chris, is that between 1989-1995 Del made a LOT of great sounding guitars..I think that the wood has more to do with this than accessories do...Ive owned 3 of these embedded tuner era models, in the last few years...I like 'em..!!>
