Len, I too saw this guitar during the restoration, but I had no idea it would come out so amazing! I guess I shouldn't be surprised though. I've been admiring Tom's work for 30 years and he has restored at least six pedal steels for me. I'm glad he's only an hour away! He's the reason I'm still playing my push/pull Emmons.

Tom,

I remember you mentioning this project the last time we talked. What a gorgeous guitar, top and bottom. You must have to wear a pair of sun glasses to protect you eyes to even work on it!

I restored a '67 brown belly bolt-on a couple of years ago (with Kluson "waffle back" tuners). This one of yours is only the second one I've ever seen or heard about, so I guess they must be pretty rare.

Your customer is going to be very happy, my friend. Congratulations to you both!

Tommy that is absolutely sensational! Congratulations on a true work of art. I'm sure she sounds as good as she looks, too. Wow.

Once again thanks to all for the kind comments.
Harold was very instrumental in getting the sound I wanted.
He rewound and rewound until I was satisfied.
Great job Harold. Thanks !!!

It’s probably just me, but I’ve never been a fan of Formica Fake Woodgrain guitars...I might have to rethink that, cause this truly is Eye Candy, and I’d take it in a heartbeat...Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!

I have seen two of the 1967 "D" era guitars, which should have had the D stamped at the end of the number but did not, had the Waffle Klusons. One of the D10s, a light blue mica guitar, had the serial number 1002 without the D, for example.

When the guitar was restored, the guy replaced the original black flocking with royal blue flocking. So, if you see that guitar, it is unoriginal flocking. Attractive, though.

Wow, fantastic work, that is a beautiful guitar, Tommy

One thing that stands out to me is the decal logo. Was that an option at the time or was there a stretch of time where the guitars had a decal rather than the badge logo?

Cheers

Ed

Always enjoy a visit with Tom and usually ride with our mutual friend Harry Teachman. Playing on a variety of Emmons guitars through various amps is like going to Disney World.
