Karen, in Belmont, is doable, but not ideal. Salem, maybe, but getting there from Hingham is a hassle.

My steel arrives today, It will surely unleash a hundred questions and quandries!

This site has great picking exercises that will tame your fingers and thumb and teach them to be in the right place at the right time. Yea, it get's boring, but you need to do it every day to make your hand learn "muscle memory".

And I can't stress enough to learn (if you don't already know) the "Nashville Number System". You can Google it.

Example... In the key of A, A and D chords are majors, B, C# and F# are minors, E is seventh, and G# is diminshed.

Bill - Glad to find a steeler in the next town. I sent a message earlier, but it hasn't seemed to show up so I'm following up with another.

Having set up the GFI S-10 With 3 & 2 the LKL is 'dead', doesn't seem to do anything and doesn't return to the 'off' position.

Ideas?

You have an interesting website - aviation and all. I was a C-130 pilot for about 20 years. Would like to meet you. I live on the street behind Stars Restaurant - since you grew up in Hulll you may remember it as Pages.

You're probably pretty busy if you are heading out for a few weeks, so while I'd ;ilke to talk with you it may have to wait until you get back.

Karen - Yes I am still intending to have some sessions with you, but I'm trying to get the mechanics fixed first. Don't know if it's going out for repair, etc.

What is your lesson format? An hour long, once a week, AM or PM, etc. Will you be away for vacation this summer. I am guessing Wednesdays and/or Fridays are when I'd be most likely to be available.

Hooray for Bill Liscomb. We got together and freed up the balky knee lever. I still need to tinker with it to get the changes accurately in tune, but I think we're on the right track.

The Rhode Island Steel Guitar Association (RISGA) is a great place to meet other steelers, learn, jam and have a lot of fun. I'm out in Littleton so that's not too helpful. Earle Pughe teaches PSG in Concord, and several great steelers in RISGA are in southern MA.

Jim - Thanks for the reply.

I have sent in my application and $$ to the RI group. I'll have to see what my schedule looks like for the August meeting. September 6th is of interest to me, but I have conflicts already for that day.

The link to the Sept. show doesn't give the hours and other info.
