Auto paint or new mica?
It's purty. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

It's red sparkle drum wrap and silver sparkle drum wrap from precision drum.com. I got 2 half roll 24" x 54" $ 120.00. If you just used one color it would be one role. I took of the old black mica with a hair dryer, and used the pieces as a template, then used contact glue. Line it up exactly - you get one chance to get it straight - not really but be careful. I only removed the neck and Keyhead and of course the strings. I left the changer and worked around it very carefully. It is a true hybrid using the dictionary meaning of that word with carter MSA and other parts, all Bud Carter stuff though! Here are some more pictures. O, I added some real neat sperzel gold tuners, and a computer keyboard pad.

Curious to know what model msa that is...recent one? i've never seen an endplate jack on an older msa.
Is that drum wrap just like mica? Or is it softer, how does it affect tone compared to original mica? |

The body is modified MSA classic, the changer unit is Carter, the fretboard MSA , the gold tuners came of an MCI, the pedal rods are MSA , the cross shafts are Carter the Alumitone was on a Zumsteel. The neck was a carter, machined to MSA specs. The legs came of an ETS that I had for a while. THE INDERCARRIAGE IS A COMBINATION OF CARTER, MCI AND MSA. Bottom line, all the parts are Bud Carter innovations from his 4 guitars.
O, the Logo says MSA for now, but if I find a Carter logo it would be more representative of the gutar. I am tempted to put ASP - all spare parts. But the parts are all good. The guitar sounds awesome, plays like a dream, and is quite unique.
The sparkle comes in rolls like mica, and is very hard, yet easy to cut around a template. It is durable and designed for drums. I have noticed no difference in the sound. _________________ LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN GEORGIA |
