We will be having our next steel jam/show on May 18th from 1:30 to 5pm at The Lumberyard, in Roscoe, Texas. This is a great venue for our association and I am currently inviting everyone I know that loves the steel guitar, and country music. I have a couple of good pickers that are checking their schedules about playing for us. Local members please contact me or Danny Letz about playing on the show. More info to follow in a few days. See yall

You bet. If you are out there the weekend of the WTSGA Jam, bring your guitar or we'll let you set in on one of ours.
Most of us play sort of an Emmons setup, but some of us lower our E's RL and some LR. Bet you can fit one of them.

Well, durn it... I can't go! We're doing ASGC that day, with Steve Palousek... so that makes up for it. See y'all next time, and thanks again for coming down to see us.

Larry and Danny,

I've kind of disappeared for awhile, and I won't go into all of the reasons. With respect to pedal steel, my ability to continue playing the instrument has probably ended unless I can get a workable mod or two done on my pedal steel. I had fairly extensive surgery done on my left ankle that included fusing the ankle joint bones on both sides of my ankle. The doc assures me that the heel - toe movement of my foot will be fine. But I will not have any side to side mobility with my left foot/ankle. Of course that means that I will not be able to rock on and off pedals like with the A and B pedals. I still have at least two months to go in my recovery. In the meantime, I am concentrating on learning lap steel in C6 tuning. I will be at the Roscoe jam if at all possible. I am now cleared to drive but I cannot put any weight on my left ankle/foot. So I need help loading and unloading my knee scooter or walker in/out of my truck. Sorry this is so long. Hope to see you on May 18 in Roscoe
Gerry

Larry- I'm looking forward to May 18 at the Roscoe Lumberyard for the jam and the opportunity to catch up with everyone. Thanks for being the "cog in the wheel" and keeping the WTSG going!! RP By the way, Gerry I'm spending quite a lot of my time on my 10 string Boen lapsteel on the C6 tuning and really enjoying! I encourage you to keep pursuing that! There's so much to offer on that tuning. Hope to see you on the 18th!

Thanks, Randall. I look forward to seeing you, too. With regard to my C6 lap steel endeavor, I am concentrating on 8 string to begin my learning curve. See you on the 18th.

Johnny Bush said he thought double neck steel players had to have two brains. I guess I just have part of one.

I've talked to several folks around the Sweetwater area that are planning on going to the jam. I'm really looking forward to it myself. Thank you for the opportunity to see such talent in this area!
