Hey everyone,

Here's a recording from a house concert I did in Brooklyn last week. I'm playing my new custom 8 string Fouke Industrial steel. One of it's features is a line in where I connect a contact mic that I can then blend with the True Tone pickup. I'm still exploring the possibilities of what can be done, but some cool sounds are already starting to emerge.

Let me know what you think!

Very cool! Do you play with a bottle neck or its the mic that give you this sound, its bluesy, I like it.

I was using a Dunlop bullet bar. It's the contact mic that had the effect. It was amplifying the strings behind the bar whenever I didn't mute them.

thanks for checking it out!

Man, I sure love your playing Myk.
Your tone and style remind me of Dave Tronzo, the great, cliche-free slide guitarist out of NYC (actually, originally from my home town of Rochester, NY).
You definitely have your own bag, though. Keep stretching, brother.

Hey Steve,

Thanks for checking out the track and for the kind words. You nailed it mentioning Tronzo. I love his approach and playing. I saw him just after I moved to NY and he pretty much blew my brains apart.

Thanks for sharing! This style of music isn't for everyone, but I like it.

I guess I'll have to come to NYC to see you play some time.
