I thought I saw somewhere that someone plays regularly in the Sarasota area, but I can't find it. Here for a handful of days. Anything?

Skip Ellis (he is on the forum) would be a good person to contact about what is going on in that area.

He has a post, here, that you can contact him from.

If you have transportation and will be here April 9th, our Florida Steel Guitar Club will have their monthly jam in Lake Panasoffkee. We are probably two hours from Sarasota (60 miles north of Tampa). If you get in contact with Skip Ellis, he usually comes to the club jams.

Dave Pierce used to play around town several years ago but he retired from that a long time ago. I don't know of anyone playing steel on a regular basis around here. There is a country bar, the White Buffalo, that may have some steel from time to time.

Danny ...sorry I missed this post. I am the staff steel guitarist at The White Buffalo Saloon in Sarasota. We play all 2014 line dance music so the steel rarely gets to shine. That said, I do have one of the best jobs around . Let me know if you are back in the area.

Since you get to Sarasota often, keep in mind the Manasota steel guitar club (link has been posted in a previous post) that has their jam the 3rd Tuesday of the month, every month except December.
