I was nodding in and out & I caught that show with Dale Watson the singer on his guitar strap & Great showman, I believe the steelers last name was Pawlak , Thats all I remember from the credits.
I could be way off on all of this but I remember him saying he wasnt ready to title himself as so called country, because the gents he most admires are Ray Price, Merle Haggard, Elvis & others but he would like to fit into there catagory of older country music,
He fits in very well with whom he admires < No problem here, he`s a traditional showman for sure and would like to see more of him and his band, They were a great sound...

The last time Dale played Cincinnati, one of the bands I play in opened for him. Dale came out during our sound check and helped our upright bass player with his pickup and then Don Pawlak came out and we talked for about 45 minutes about Sho-Buds. He was playing a Super Pro and I was playing my Pro III.What a NICE GUY!!! |

Finally caught up with this edition of "Austin City Limits." What are the odds: not one but two Sho-Buds on the bill - Don Pawlak's D-10 w/ Dale Watson, and Adam Ollendorf's S-10 w/ Kacey Musgraves. I hadn't heard of Adam before but the steel was way up in the mix and he sounded great. |

Nice ! I especially like where Dale had the Steel, FRONT LINE...unlike many artists who place the Steel back line or maybe even behind the curtain.
Hats off to Dale... _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders

Hey Ron, it was at the Southgate House Revival. The manager and booking person for the club is a big Dale Watson fan!!! Hey, you need to come down to the Southgate House Revival some Sunday. I'm there with Straw Boss every Sunday, from 9 to 12.
I know it's a "school night", but come on down for the first set. It's a fun gig with a fun band!!! I'll let you know about the next Dale Watson show, or you can check the clubs website. |

A good while ago, my wife and I never missed seeing the Austin City Limits tv show. Asleep At The Wheel was one of our favorites, but we enjoyed it all because it was before country music "popped" and turned into fire, smoke, and swingin on ropes. Guess
i'm set in my ways, i like steel so much that i don't buy, borrow, listen, or play , anything withOUT a steel guitar. Dale Watson and his band, IMHO, were great, hope to catch more of their down-home sound and out-front steel playin on the"tube".
